1. The visit
The remodeler measures, checks plumbing and talks through bases, walls, glass and fixtures.
2. Choosing finishes
Panel walls or tile, glass door or fixed panel, bench, niche and grab bars.
3. Removal
The tub and surround come out; the floor and walls are checked.
4. Install
Drain and valve updates, shower base, waterproofing and walls.
5. Finishing
Glass, fixtures, caulking and clean-up. Panel systems can take one to three days; tiled showers longer.
